Garfield and Rebecca met and began their personal and business partnership at the Southbank University in London, UK, where Garfield got his BA in Social Science and Rebecca – in Town and Country Planning. From there, Garfield went on to getting his MA in Criminology at Lester University in Midlands, UK and Rebecca – her MA in Third World Economics at Manchester University in Manchester, UK.
They came to US in 1994 and tried their hands at stock broking at Rickelles Co on Wall Street. However, they soon realized that their aspirations could not be realized in the confines of an office. Garfield and Rebecca started exploring the possibilities when they found Bridgeport, Connecticut, a city well known but overlooked. They established First National Development, Inc. and started investing in Bridgeport in 1994.
Today FND is one of the major local developers in the area. Garfield and Rebecca are a team that possesses both a great vision and in-depth practical knowledge. Motivated and determined, this team has successfully completed multiple projects that not only transformed neighborhoods but also changed how other investors, developers, and public in general viewed the city of Bridgeport.
