First National Development, Inc. (FND) was established in Fairfield, Connecticut in 1994 by Garfield and Rebecca Spencer, a husband and wife team. The main forte of the company is redevelopment of existing commercial and industrial buildings into residential housing complexes. FND has taken on multiple projects that other developers had found "too risky." Overcoming, sometimes serious, environmental challenges and winning difficult zoning battles have made this company known for its determination and commitment to transforming distressed and abandoned factories and half-occupied commercial buildings into fully rented upscale properties and/or fully sold condominium complexes.
